In the mainstream TFT-LCD field, China's two major panel manufacturers, BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics, have strong strengths, and have built or put into production 10.5/11 generation panel production lines. South Korea's two panel manufacturers can only choose to develop new panel technologies. Samsung TV developed OLED panel for the smart phone market. At present, its small and medium-sized OLED panel business has become the second largest profit source after the memory chip business. Originally it intends to develop OLED panels for TV, but it faces LGD in TV OLED. The panel market dominated the situation, and it chose to develop QLED TV. At the beginning of this year, it led other companies to release the world's first microLED TV.

QLED and OLED have advantages in color display, black purity, brightness, response time, etc., but OLED TVs are lighter, thinner, more energy efficient and provide the best viewing angle to date, while LGD has united more TV manufacturers, it seems that QLED TV technology is gradually falling behind. However, the weakness of OLED TV is also very obvious, that is, the short life, easy to burn and other issues, and microLED can solve the weakness of OLED technology.

However, at present, the production technology of microLED panel needs to be improved, and its mass production is still facing difficulties. Samsung TV does not want micro-LED panel technology to affect its main profit source. The small and medium-sized OLED panel business is therefore aimed at restaurants, shops and stadiums. Commercial users such as museums are pushing Micro LED TVs. It takes time for microLED technology to replace OLEDs.
